3SetMinimumDepthandMaximumDepthtovaluestforthedepthatyourcurrent
location.
TheMinimumDepthsettingeliminatesallunwantedbottomdetectionsfromthe
transducerfaceanddowntothedepthyouhavechosen.
SettheMaximumDepthtoapproximately50%morethantheexpecteddepth.
Ifyousetmaximumdepthtoavalueidenticalorsmallerthantheminimumvalue,
thebottomdetectionalgorithmwillbedisabled.TheES80willnotdetectthe
bottomatall,andthedisplayeddepthwillbe0.00m.
Tip
Ifyouhaveproblemswithbottomdetection,youmayconsiderdisablingit.Thiscan
beusefulifyouonlywishtostudytargetsinthewatercolumn.
4SelectOKtosavetheselectedsettingsandclosethedialogbox.
Result
IftheES80shouldloosebottomdetectionduetoairorotherdisturbances,itwilltryto
relocatethedepthwithintheminimumandmaximumdepthsyouhavedened.
Checkingand/oreditingthetransceiverparameters
TheNormalOperationdialogboxlistsallthetransmissionparameters.Thedialogbox
providesonerowforeachchannelinuse.Youarepermittedtochangetheparameters.
Prerequisites
ThisprocedureassumesthattheES80systemisturnedonandoperatesnormally.The
NormalOperationdialogboxisonlyavailablewhentheES80operatesinNormalmode.
Procedure
1OntheOperationmenu,opentheNormalOperationdialogbox.
2Foreachchannel:
aSetPulseTypetoaLFMorCWmodeaspermittedbyyourlicenseandthe
transducer.
bSetModetoActive.
cSetPulseDurationtoyourchosenvalue.
dSetPowertothecorrectpowerlevelforthetransducer.
eSetStartFrequencyandEndFrequencytovaluespermittedbyyourlicense
andthetransducer.
