Wheneveropportunityarise,typicallywhenthevesselisdry-docked,thetransducerface
mustbecleanedforshellsandothermarinegrowth.
•Becareful
sothatyoudonotaccidentallymakecutsorinictotherphysicaldamage
tothetransducerface.
•Removebiologicalfoulingcarefullyusingaplasticbrush,asuitablesynthetic
detergentandfreshwater.Biologicalmaterialwhichisstronglyrootedinthesubstrate
canberemovedcarefullywithapieceofwoodorplastic.
•Donotusehigh-pressurewater,sandblasting,metaltoolsorstrongsolventstoclean
thetransducer.
Anti-foulingpaintmaybeappliedtothetransducerface.Tominimizethenegative
acousticaleffectsthelayerofanti-foulingpaintmustbeasthinaspossible.
Note
Theanti-foulingpaintwillreducetheacousticalperformanceofthetransducer.The
surfaceroughnessofthetransducersubstrateandthethicknessofthepaintmayalso
inuencetheperformance.KongsbergMaritimecannotbeheldresponsibleforany
negativeconsequencesoftheanti-foulingpaint.
