HardnessLinefunction.
Description
TheHardnessLinecanbeaddedtoyourechogramtoretrieveadditionalinformation.It
appearsasthickcolourcodedlinethatfollowsthebottomcontour.Thislinedoesnot
removeinformation,itsimply"pushes"theechoinformationfurtherdowninorderto
showyouthebottomreectivity.YoucanusetheHardnessLineandtheBottomLine
functionssimultaneously,buteachcannotbeusedtogetherwiththeWhiteLine.

Whenyoustudythebottomhardness,youcanlearnmoreaboutthebottom.Certain
speciesareknowntopreferspecicbottomconditions.Withmoreknowledge,youare
betterqualiedtoestimatethepossiblecatch.

informationpane.Thecoloursontheleftsideof
thescaleindicateasoftbottom,whilethecolours
