Tosecurelonglifeandaccurateresults,thetransducermustbehandledcorrectly.
Atransducermustalwaysbehandledasadelicateinstrument.Incorrectactionsmay
damagethetransducerbeyondrepair.Observethesetransducerhandlingrules:
1Donotactivatethetransducerwhenitisoutofthewater.
2Donothandlethetransducerroughlyandavoidimpacts.
3Donotexposethetransducertodirectsunlightorexcessiveheat.
4Donotusehigh-pressurewater,sandblasting,metaltoolsorstrongsolventsto
cleanthetransducerface.
5Donotdamagetheouterprotectiveskinofthetransducerface.
6Donotliftthetransducerbythecable.
7Donotsteponthetransducercable.
8Donotdamagethetransducercable,andavoidexposuretosharpobjects.
Transportprotection
Sometransducersaredeliveredwithacoverplatetoprotectthefaceduringtransport
andinstallation.Letthisplatestayonaslongaspossible,butdonotforgettoremove
itbeforethevesselgoestosea.
Cleaningandpaintingthetransducerface
Duringnormaluse,thetransducerissubjectedtobiologicalfouling.Ifthismarine
growthisexcessive,itwillreducetheperformanceoftheES80.
