Becausesomepainttypesmaybeaggressivetothepolyurethaneinthetransducer,
consultourlistofapprovedpaints.
Context
Thetransducerhasnotbeendesignedwithanyprotectionagainstbiologicalfouling.
Anti-foulingpaintmaythereforebeappliedtothetransducerface.Tominimizethe
negativeacousticaleffectsthelayerofanti-foulingpaintmustbeasthinaspossible.
Note
Theanti-foulingpaintwillreducetheacousticalperformanceofthetransducer.The
surfaceroughnessofthetransducersubstrateandthethicknessofthepaintmayalso
inuencetheperformance.KongsbergMaritimecannotbeheldresponsibleforany
negativeconsequencesoftheanti-foulingpaint.
Observetherelevantinstructionsandsafetyinformationprovidedbythepaint
manufacturer.
Procedure
1Cleanthetransducerthoroughly.
Makesurethatyouremovealloilgreaseresidues,aswellassaltandother
contamination.
2Allowthetransducersurfacetodry.
3Abradethetransducersurfaceusingasandingpaperwith240inchgritsize.
