Noiseestimate
Foreverytransmission("ping")theES80measurestheecholevelsalongthe
chosenrange.Typically,thesemeasurementsaremadeeveryvemeters,evenfor
longranges.
Allechoesandnoiseinthewaterarerecorded.Thisincludesnoisegeneratedby
yourownvessel(electric,propellers,machineryetc),waterow,cavitationand
interference.Echoesfromshandotherspecies,aswellasfromthebottom,are
detectedandaddedtotheequations.
Bycomparingthesemeasurements,theES80calculatesanoiseestimate.
