columnstartingfromtheseasurfaceanddowntothebottom.Sincethisechogramis
referencedtotheseasurface,thebottomcontourwillvarywiththeactualdepth.
•Bottom
ABottomechogramismainlyusedwhenyouwishtoexaminetheechoesfromsh
closetothebottom.Sincethisechogramisreferencedtothebottom,theseasurface
willvarywiththeactualdepth,whilethebottomisdrawnat.
•Pelagic
APelagicechogramismainlyusedwhenyouwishtolookatthewatercolumn
startingfromanydistancebelowtheseasurfacedowntowardsthebottom,but
withoutseeingthebottomcontour.
•Trawl
Trawlsensorsystems(suchasSimradPI,PXandITI)communicateheadropedepth,
and/orthedistancefromtheheadropetothefootrope(trawlopening),totheES80at
regularintervals.Thisinformationisrequiredforthetrawlechogramtobegenerated.
TheTrawlechogramcoverstheverticalopeningofthetrawlwithreferencetothe
depthoftheheadrope.

2OpentheActivemenu.
3SelectEchogram.
ObservethattheEchogramdialogboxopens.
4OntheleftsideoftheEchogramdialogbox,selectEchogramtoopenthepage.
5UsetheEchogramTypefunctiontoselectthetypeyouwishtoapplytothechosen
view.
6Applythechange(s)youhavemade.
aSelectApplyifyouwishtoapplythechosensettingonlytothecurrentlyactive
echogramview.
bSelectApplytoAllifyouwishtousethechosensettingonalltheechograms
ofthesametype.
7Closethedialogbox.
