Grid/Groove Quantize
The Grid/Groove Quantize command adjusts
MIDI note locations and durations so that tim-
ing is improved, or so that a particular rhythmic
“feel” is achieved.
The default Grid/Groove page provides Grid
Quantize options, so that you can Quantize
works by aligning notes to a Quantize Grid, the
size of which is defined in the Quantize Grid
pop-up menu by a standard note duration, or
you can apply a groove template. The
Grid/Groove Quantize window provides slightly
different options for Grid Quantize and Groove
Quantize.

If the MIDI Operations window is already
open, you can select any of the pages from
the pop-up menu at the top of the window.

and MIDI Real-Time Properties at the same
time, MIDI operations are applied to the ac-
tual MIDI data. MIDI Real-Time Properties
continue to applied on top of the actual
MIDI data.
You can also quantize MIDI input, see “In-
put Quantize” on page 604.
