Adding Oil to Header Drive Gearbox
DANGER
To avoid bodily injury or death from unexpected start-up of machine, always stop engine and remove key
from ignition before leaving operators seat for any reason.

1. Lower the cutterbar to the ground, and ensure the
gearbox is in working position.
2. Shut down the combine, and remove the key from
the ignition.
3. Remove the oil level plug (A) and the filler plug (B).
4. Add SAE 85W-140 (API service class GL-5) oil into the
filler plug (B) until it runs out of the oil level plug
hole (A).
5. Replace the oil level plug (A) and the filler plug (B).
Changing Oil in Header Drive Gearbox
Change the header drive gearbox oil after the first 50 hours of operation and every 1000 hours (or 3 years)
thereafter.

1. Raise or lower the header to position the oil drain
plug (A) at its lowest point.
2. Shut down the combine, and remove the key from
the ignition.
3. Place a suitably sized container (approximately 4 liters
[1 US gallon]) underneath the gearbox drain to collect
the oil.
4. Remove the oil drain plug (A) and the filler plug (C), and
allow the oil to drain.
5. Replace the oil drain plug (A) and remove the oil level
plug (B).
6. Add SAE 85W-140 (API service class GL-5) oil into the
filler plug (C) until it runs out of the oil level hole (B).
NOTE:
The header drive gearbox holds approximately 2.5 liters
(5 US pints) of oil.
7. Replace the oil level plug (B) and the filler plug (C).
