5.14.6 Replacing Drive Chain on Double Reel
1. Shut down the combine, and remove the key from the ignition.
2. Loosen the drive chain. Refer to Loosening Reel Drive Chain, page 463.
3. Support the inboard end of the right reel with a front end loader and nylon slings (A) (or equivalent lifting
device).
IMPORTANT:
Avoid damaging or denting the center tube by supporting the reel as close to the end disc as possible.

4. Remove the four bolts (A) securing the reel tube to U-
joint flange (B).

5. Move the right reel sideways to separate reel tube (A)
from U-joint (B).
6. Remove drive chain (C).
7. Route new chain (C) over U-joint (B) and position onto
the sprockets.
