5. Reinstall the cover (C) by positioning the inboard lip into
the auger tube and rotating back to engage the
rear support.
6. Replace and tighten bolts (A) and (B).
Lubricating Header Drive Gearbox
Checking Oil Level in Header Drive Gearbox
Check header drive gearbox oil level every 100 hours.
DANGER
To avoid bodily injury or death from unexpected start-up of machine, always stop engine and remove key
from ignition before leaving operator’s seat for any reason.

1. Lower cutterbar to ground and ensure gearbox is in
working position.
2. Shut down combine and remove key from ignition.
3. Remove oil level plug (A) and check that oil level is up
to bottom of hole.
4. If no oil is required, replace oil level plug (A).
5. Add oil if required. Refer to Adding Oil to Header Drive
Gearbox, page 343.
