Figure 5.231: Center Arm
2. Adjust center arm lift cylinder link (A) to set clearance at
center of reel and clearance at flex points as follows:
NOTE:
This adjustment is most easily performed from
underside of arm.
a. Loosen nut (B).
b. Turn nut (C) counterclockwise to raise reel and
increase clearance to cutterbar, or clockwise to
lower reel and decrease clearance.
c. Tighten nut (B).
3. Move reel back to ensure steel end fingers do not contact deflector shields.
4. If contact is evident, adjust reel upward to maintain clearance at all reel fore/aft positions. Alternatively, trim
steel end fingers to obtain proper clearance.
5. Periodically check for evidence of contact, and adjust clearance as required.
5.13.2 Reel Frown
The reel is factory-set to provide more clearance at the center of the reel than at the ends (frown) to compensate for
reel flexing.
Adjusting Reel Frown
Adjust the reel frown by repositioning the reel tine tubes attached to the reel discs.
NOTE:
Measure the frown profile before disassembling the reel for servicing so the profile can be maintained
during reassembly.
