Context configure>eth-cfm
Description This command configures Connectivity Fault Maintenance Domain parameters.
The no form of the command removes the MD index parameters from the configuration.
Parameters md-index — Specifies the Maintenance Domain (MD) index value.
Values: 1...4294967295
format {dns | mac | none | string} — Specifies a value that represents the type (format).
Values:
• dns: Specifies the DNS name format.
• mac: X:X:X:X:X:X-u
where:
X: [0...FF]h
u: [0...65535]d
• none: Specifies a Y.1731 domain format and the only format allowed to execute Y.1731 
specific functions
• string: Specifies an ASCII string.
Default: string
name md-name - Specifies a generic Maintenance Domain (MD) name.
Values: 1...43 characters
level level - Specifies the integer identifying the maintenance domain level (MD Level). Higher 
numbers correspond to higher maintenance domains, those with the greatest physical reach, 
with the highest values for customers' CFM packets. Lower numbers correspond to lower 
maintenance domains, those with more limited physical reach, with the lowest values for single 
bridges or physical links.
