To reconfigure the trigger settings
We assume that the instrument is configured as described in Chapter 3.3.2, "Generat-
ing a Digitally Modulated Signal", on page 55 and the default connector mapping is
maintained (see Figure 3-13).
1. In the block diagram, select "Baseband > Misc > Custom Digital Mod > Trigger In".
2. Select the following settings:
a) "Mode > Armed Auto"
b) "Source > External Global Trigger 1".
The instrument expects an external global trigger event. In this current configura-
tion (see Figure 3-13), the "Global Trigger 1" signal has to be supplied at the input
connector USER 3.
The Trigger/Marker/Clock status LEDs in the block diagram confirm that an exter-
nal trigger signal is selected; the signal generation is however stopped.
To connect the instrument and the external trigger source
1. Use a suitable cable to connect the external trigger source to the USER 3 connec-
tor of the R&S SMW, see Figure 3-14.
