Thepinginterval(1/pingrepetitionfrequency(PRF))isthepingratemeasured
intimebetweeneachtransmission.
Thephrasepingrateisusedtodescribetheparameterthatcontrolshowoften
theES80canorshalltransmitacousticenergy(a"ping")intothewater.The
pingrateisnormallylimitedbythemaximumrangesettings.Itwillalsobe
dependantonhardwareissues.Thismaybe,forexample,howfastyour
ProcessorUnitcanhandletheinformationfromeachping,howfastyour
systemcommunicateswithexternalperipherals,orhowlongtimethesystem
usestosavedata.

ThisfunctionisnotsupportedbytheES80.
Network
SomeES80endusersconnecttheProcessorUnittotheirlocalareanetwork
(LAN).Thisgroupoffersgenericinformationaboutthisnetwork.IftheProcessor
Unitisnotconnectedtoalocalnetwork,theseboxesareempty.

Thistextboxreectsthenameofthelocalareanetwork(LAN).
LocalIPAddress
ThisistheInternetProtocol(IP)addressoftheEthernetinterfaceadapter
locatedinyourProcessorUnit.Inmostcases,eachEthernetadapterhasa
uniqueIPaddress,evenwhenitsupportsmultiplesockets.
MTU(MaximumTransmissionUnit)
Thisnumberreectsthemaximumsizeofthedatapacketsthatcanbe
transferredontheEthernetlinetoandfromthelocalareanetwork(LAN).
Incomputernetworking,themaximumtransmissionunit(MTU)ofa
communicationsprotocolofalayeristhesize(inbytesoroctets)ofthe
largestprotocoldataunitthatthelayercanpassonwards.MTUparameters
usuallyappearinassociationwithacommunicationsinterface(NIC,
serialport,etc.).Standards(Ethernet,forexample)canxthesizeofan
MTU;orsystems(suchaspoint-to-pointseriallinks)maydecideMTU
atconnecttime.
