ThissettingusesthesameTVGamplicationasFish(40logR),butadditional
lteringandcompensationisimplemented.
Onlyechoesdetectedandinterpretedassingleshareshown.Theechoesare
compensatedfortheirphysicalpositioninthebeam(beamcompensation).
Thismeansthatshintheouterregionofthebeamareadjustedtocorrectsize
eventhoughtheirechoesareweaker.

Usethisfunctiontoselectwhatkindofechogramyouwishtoseeinthecurrent
("active")view.
Surface
ASurfaceechogramismainlyusedwhenyouwishtolookattheentirewater
columnstartingfromtheseasurfaceanddowntothebottom.Sincethis
echogramisreferencedtotheseasurface,thebottomcontourwillvarywiththe
actualdepth.IfyousetuptheStartRangeandRangedepthstoplacethebottom
contouratthelowerendoftheechogram,youwillhavegoodopportunityto
studytheechoesfromthewatercolumn.
Inthesurfaceechogram,allcalculationsaremadefromtheseasurfaceand
downtothedetectedbottom.Usethisechogramtypetoobtaincorrect
calculationofthebiomass.ItwillalsoprovidevaliddatafortheSize
Distributioninformationpane.
