21.1.3.2. Shunt input calibration
Notice: Calibration is considered an expert user task. Users must be logged in with Administrator
privileges to perform this calibration.
Tocalibrateaninputcorrectly,youneedhardwaretogenerateandmeasuretheinputsignalaccurately.
ThistopiccovershowtodoaSingle-Point Calibration.IfyouneedtodoaSlope/Offset Calibration or
aTwo-Point Calibration,afactorycalibrationdocumentshouldbewrittenshowing,step-by-step,how
boththehardwareandthesoftwareneedtobeusedtoperformanaccuratecalibration.
To perform a single-point calibration on a shunt input:
1. GotoModules,intheCAN Modules tableselectanADIO andselecttheGO TO buttontoview
theShunt Inputs table.
2. SelecttheGO TO buttonofaShunt Input toviewitsindividualmenu.
3. SelecttheFactory Calibration buttontolaunchthewizard.
4. AttheSelect Type of Calibration step,selectSingle-Point Calibration.
5. Withadigitalvoltmeter,measurethevoltageacrosstheinput.
6. AttheSingle-Point Calibration step,enterthereadingonthevoltmeterintotheMeasured Value
field.
7. SelectNext togotoApply Calibration.Thewizarddisplaystheoldslopeandoffsetandthenew
slopeandoffset.Beforeacceptingthesevalues,ensurethattheslopeisverycloseto1.0andthe
offsetisnomorethanafewvoltsfrom0.0.
8. SelectNext tosendthenewoffsettotheADIOmodule.
9. VerifythatthenewlyCalibrated Value matchesthedigitalvoltmeterreading.SelectDone toclose
thewizard.
