5. Position the plastic wearplate (if applicable),
replacement guard (B), adjuster bar (D), hold-down (C),
and install bolts and nuts (A). Do NOT tighten.
6. Check and adjust the clearance between the hold-
downs and the knife. Refer to Checking and Adjusting
Knife Hold-Downs, page 386.
Center guard replacement
NOTE:
The guard at the center of a double-knife header (where the two knives overlap) requires a slightly different
replacement procedure.
WARNING
To avoid bodily injury or death from unexpected start-up or fall of raised machine, always stop engine,
remove key, and engage safety props before going under machine for any reason.
