Command Reference RIP Commands
RIP packages can be sent through the interface by default.
Interface configuration mode
To prevent an interface from sending RIP packets, use the no form of this command in interface
configuration mode. This command works on interfaces configured with this command. You can use
the default form of this command to enable the interface to send the RIP data package.
The following example prohibits sending RIP data packages on fastEthernet 0/1.
Ruijie (config)# interface fastEthernet 0/1
Ruijie (config-if-FastEthernet 0/1)# no ip rip send enable
Enables or disables receiving RIP packets on
the interface.
Configures a passive RIP interface.
1.16 ip rip send supernet-routes
Use this command to enable RIP to send the supernet route on a specified interface. Use the no form
of this command to disable this function.
ip rip send supernet-routes
no ip rip send supernet-routes
This function is enabled by default.
Interface configuration mode
When the RIPv1 router monitors a RIPv2 router response packet and if the supernet routing
information is monitored, incorrect route information is learned because the RIPv1 ignores the subnet
mask of the routing information. In this case, you are advised to use the no form of this command on
the RIPv2 router to disable advertising the supernet route on the corresponding interface. This
