Description
Trawlsensorsystems(suchasSimradPI,PXandITI)communicateheadropedepth,
and/orthedistancefromtheheadropetothefootrope(trawlopening),totheES80at
regularintervals.Theinformationcanbeusedtodrawtheupperand/orlowertrawl
linesintheES80echogram.Ifanothertrawlorcatchmonitoringsystemisused,and
thissystemdoesnotprovidethetrawlopeningand/ortrawldistanceautomatically,the
valuesmustbeenteredmanually.
Thisinformationisrequiredforthetrawlechogramtobegenerated.Withoutthedepth
oftheheadrope,theechogramwouldappearlikeastandardpelagicechogramcontrolled
bytheRangeandStartRangesettings.
Note
TheTrawlechogramisonlydrawnwhentrawlpositioninformationisavailable.
Thedistancefromtheheadropetothefootrope(trawlopening)canbemanuallyseton
theTrawlpage.Thisisusefulfortrawlsensorsystemsthatdonotmeasurethetrawl
opening,orwhenthemeasureddistanceisunreliable.Youcanalsoprovidethedistance
fromthevesseltothetrawlopening.Thedepthoftheheadropemusthoweverbe
importedfromthecatchmonitoringsystem.TheTrawlpageislocatedintheInstallation
dialogbox.
ThebiomasscalculationsinaTrawlechogramarenotrestrictedbythebottomdetection.
Thismeansthatthebottomechowillbeincludedinthecalculationsifitappearswithin
thechosenrange.
