Description
Whenevermorethanonehydroacousticsystemisinstalledonavessel,interferencemay
occur.Toavoidinterference,youhavetheseoptions:
•Thesystemsareallconnectedtoacommonsynchronizationsystem.
•Oneoftheacousticsystemsissetupas"master",andcontrolsthetransmissionson
theothersystems.
TheES80offersfunctionalityforremotetransmitsynchronization.Itcanbesetupto
operateineitherMasterorSlavemode.
Inphysics,interferenceisthephenomenoninwhichtwowavessuperposeeach
othertoformaresultantwaveofgreaterorloweramplitude.Interferenceusually
referstotheinteractionofwavesthatarecorrelatedorcoherentwitheachother,
eitherbecausetheycomefromthesamesourceorbecausetheyhavethesameor
nearlythesamefrequency.Interferenceeffectscanbeobservedwithalltypesof
waves,forexample,light,radio,acoustic,surfacewaterwavesormatterwaves.

•Stand-alone
Synchronizationis
turnedoff.ThissynchronizationmodeisusediftheES80isworkingbyitself
andwithnosynchronizationrequired.Thisisthedefaultsetting.TheES80
operatesusingitsinternalpingintervalparameters,independentofanytrigger
signalsarrivingatthesynchronizationport.
ThismodeisunavailableifyousetSynchronizationPorttoTransceiver
AuxiliaryPort.
TheSynchronizationDelaysettingisnotapplicablewhensynchronizationis
switchedoff.
