8 TROUBLESHOOTING
8.2 MHL360 E
8.2 Diesel engine
All defects and faults in the diesel engine
must be inspected as described in the sepa-
rate Deutz operating instructions.
During the warranty period, malfunctions must
be dealt with by the responsible service agent
or a specialist workshop.
8.2.1 Electronic engine control (EEC)
The EEC protects the diesel engine against
damage by monitoring compliance with im-
portant limit values during operation.
Depending on the severity of the error that
has been detected, the diesel engine can con-
tinue to run with some limitations (possibly at
reduced output, in which case the indicator
(338/60) will light up and remain lit or the die-
sel engine is turned off, in which case the in-
dicator (338/60) will flash. As soon as the er-
ror is no longer present, the indicator (338/60)
goes out.
If the EEC has switched over to emergency
speed, the diesel engine must be turned off
with the ignition key (338/29) for at least 30
seconds to allow the indicator (338/60) to go
out.
Errors that have been corrected or are no
longer current still remain stored in the error
memory of the control unit. They can be read
or deleted with the DEUTZ diagnostics soft-
ware program SERDIA.
In the event of malfunctions affecting the sys-
tem, please contact customer service.

8.3 Lowering the loading equipment
when the motor has shut down
If the diesel engine has shut down, you can
lower the loading equipment by means of the
four-way control levers, assuming that the
necessary pilot pressure is available. The igni-
tion must be switched on.
h Chapter 5.16.3 Moving the loading equip-
ment
The machine can be equipped with hose rup-
ture safety devices as an option which will
keep the loading equipment in position if a
hose or line breaks. Controlled lowering is
possible.
