(10) Install a nd tighten the screw tha t secur es t he
front sea t belt lower a nchor t o the out board side of
the seat fram e. Tighten th e screw to 35 N·m (26 ft.
lbs.).
(11) If the vehicle is so equipped, sn ap t he plastic
cover over t he scr ew t hat secures the front seat belt
lower anchor to t he outboard side of the seat fra me.
(12) Do not recon nect the bat tery negative ca ble a t
this t ime. The supplemental restra int syst em verifi-
cation test procedure sh ould be performed following
service of any supplem ental r estraint syst em compo-
nent . (Refer to 8 - ELE CTRICAL/RESTRAINTS -
STANDARD PROCEDURE - VERIFICATION TE ST).
FRON T SEAT BELT BU CK LE
REMOVAL
WARNING: To avoid personal injury or death, during
and following any seat belt service, carefully
inspect all seat belts, buckles, mounting hardware,
retractors, and anchors for proper installation, oper-
ation, or damage. Replace any belt that is cut,
frayed, or torn. Straighten any belt that is twisted.
Tighten any loose fasteners. Replace any belt that
has a damaged or inoperative buckle or retractor.
Replace any belt that has a bent or damaged latch
plate or anchor plate. Never attempt to repair a seat
belt component. Always replace damaged or faulty
seat belt components with the correct, new and
unused replacement parts listed in the
DaimlerChrysler Mopar Parts Catalog.
(1) On the driver side on ly, move the seat to its
most forward position for ea siest access to the seat
belt switch pigtail wire a nd connect or.
(2) On the driver side only, remove the wire ties
that secur e the sea t belt switch pigtail wir e to the
seat frame (Fig. 26).
(3) On the dr iver side only, pull th e seat belt
switch pigtail wir e out through the clea rance hole in
the seat riser cover fa r enough to a ccess and discon-
nect th e pigt ail wir e from the vehicle wire harness.
(4) If the veh icle is so equipped, unsnap and
remove t he plastic cover fr om the screw th at secures
the front seat belt bu ckle lower a nchor to the inboa rd
side of the seat frame.
(5) Remove the screw t hat secur es the front sea t
belt buckle lower anchor to the inboa rd side of the
seat frame.
(6) Remove the front seat belt buckle fr om the
inboa rd side of the fr ont seat fra me.
INSTALLATION

inboa rd side of the fr ont seat fra me (Fig. 26).
(2) In st all and tigh ten the screw that secur es th e
front sea t belt buckle lower anchor to the inboa rd
side of the fr ont seat fram e. Tighten th e scr ew to 35
N·m (26 ft. lbs.).
