(4) In st all t he oil pan . Tighten M6 bolts to 9N·m
(80 lbs. in .) an d M8 bolts t o 20N·m (15 lbs. ft.) (Fig.
59).
(5) Tighten the bolt of the transmission bell hous-
ing to oil pan to 40N·m (30 lbs. ft.).
(6) In st all the wiring har ness duct (Fig. 57).
(7) Connect the oil level sensor (Fig. 57).
(8) Lower th e vehicle.
(9) Lower t he en gin e un til th e engin e mou nt an d
engine su pports make contact.
(10) Star t an d h and tighten the engine mount
bolts.
(11) Lower th e en gin e the rest of t he way and
remove th e engine support fixtur e.
(12) Tighten the engine m ount bolts to 83 N·m (61
lbs. ft.).
(13) Install the swa y bar a nd tighten bolts to 30
N·m (22 lbs. ft.).
(14) Refill cra nkca se with the proper engine oil to
the pr oper level (Refer to LUBRICATION & MAIN-
TENANCE /FLUID TYPES - SPE CIF ICATIONS).
(15) Reconn ect nega tive battery cable.
WARNING: USE EXTREME CAUTION WHEN THE
ENGINE IS OPERATING. DO NOT PUT YOUR
HANDS NEAR THE PULLEYS, BELTS OR FAN. DO
NOT WEAR LOOSE CLOTHES.
(16) Star t the en gin e and inspect for lea ks.

REMOVAL
(1) Remove t he oil pan (Refer to 9 - ENGINE/LU-
BRICATION/OIL PAN - REMOVAL).
(2) Remove the oil pu mp bolts (F ig. 57).
(3) Press the chain tensioner off of the oil pump
chain, and remove pum p fr om chain.
(4) Remove th e oil pump, pick-up t ube and O-rin g
(Fig. 57).
REMOVAL - OIL PUMP CHAIN
(1) Disconn ect nega tive battery cable.
(2) Remove oil pan (Refer to 9 - E NGINE/LUBRI-
CATION/OIL PAN - RE MOVAL).
(3) Remove oil pu mp (Refer t o 9 - ENGINE/LU-
BRICATION/OIL PUMP - REMOVAL).
NOTE: Make sure the pin of the thrust spindle is
backed out into the thrust spindle before seating
the thrust spindle to the oil pump chain.
(4) Usin g special tool #9312–1 riveting tool, t hrust
spindle #9312–4 a nd t hrust pin pin #9312–3, position
and fit chain sepera ting tool a nd thrust spindle onto
a lin k of t he oil pump ch ain (Fig. 60).
(5) Scr ew the t hrust pin in an d seper ate the oil
pu mp chain lin k.
