DESCRIPTION
An occupan t restr aint system is stan da rd factory-
insta lled sa fety equipment on this m odel. Availa ble
occupant restr aints for this m odel in clude bot h active
and passive types. Act ive restraint s are those which
require t he vehicle occupants to ta ke some action to
employ, such as fasten ing a seat belt; while pa ssive
restraint s require n o action by t he vehicle occu pa nts
to be employed (Fig. 1).
ACTIVE RESTRAINTS
The a ctive restrain ts for this model include:
• Front Seat Belts - Both out board front seating
position s ar e equipped wit h three-point seat belt sys-
tems employing a lower B-pillar moun ted inert ia
lat ch-type retr actors, height -adjustable upper B-pil-
lar m ounted tu rning loops, tr avelling lower sea t belt
anchors secured to the outboa rd seat tracks, and
