WIPERS/WASHERS
DESCRIPTION
An electrically opera ted in term itten t wiper and
washer system is stan da rd factory-inst alled sa fety
equipm ent on th is model (F ig. 1). The wiper and
washer system includes the following major compo-
nent s, which are descr ibed in further detail else-
where in this service information :
• Ch ec k Va lv e - The washer system check valve
is integral to the plumbing fitting located in the
washer plu mbing between the cowl plenu m wa sh er
hose and t he two wa sh er n ozzle hoses, and is loca ted
benea th the cowl top pa nel at the base of t he wind-
sh ield in the engine compartment.
• Mu lt i-F u n c tio n S w it c h - The mult i-funct ion
switch is secu red to the t op of the st eering column ,
just below t he steerin g wheel. Only t he left (lighting)
control stalk, right (wiper) control stalk a nd the h az-
ard warnin g switch button for th e multi-function
switch ar e visible, th e remainder of t he switch is con-
cealed beneat h the steer ing column sh rouds. The
multi-fu nction switch cont ains all of the switches for
