FRONT SUSPENSION
TIE ROD END
REMOVAL
(1) Raise and support the vehicle.
(2) Remove the front wh eels.
(3) Loosen the lock nut (Fig. 1).
(4) Remove the tie rod end retainin g nu t (Fig. 1).
(5) Sepa rat e th e tie r od end from the steerin g
knu ckle (Fig. 1) using specia l tool C-3894–A.
(6) Remove th e out er tie rod end from t he inner tie
rod end by un screwing (Fig. 1).
INSTALLATION
(1) In st all the outer t ie rod end by scr ewing it onto
thew inn er tie rod end (F ig. 1).
(2) In st all the ou ter tie rod en d into the steerin g
knu ckle (Fig. 1).
(3) Tighten the out er t ie rod end n ut (Fig. 1).
Tighten t o 130 N·m (96 ft. lbs.).
(4) In st all the front wh eels.
(5) Lower th e vehicle.
(6) Perfor m toe adjustm ent.
(7) Tighten the lock nut a fter toe adjustmen t (Fig.
1). Tighten t o 50 N·m (37 ft. lbs.).
