(3) Disconn ect the front lam p u nit wire h arn ess
connect or from the fog la mp bulb ba se (Fig. 14).
(4) Disengage the two fog lamp bu lb retainers by
pu sh ing them sligh tly towa rd t he front lam p un it
housin g, out ward t o each side of the bulb base, then
pivot th e ret ainer s off of th e bulb base.
(5) Remove the fog lamp bulb fr om the integra l
bulb holder on t he fron t lamp unit reflector.
INSTALLATION
(1) Position the fog lamp bulb into th e in tegr al
bulb holder on the front lamp u nit r eflector. Be cer-
tain t hat th e lugs on the bulb base are enga ged in
the r ecesses of th e bulb holder (Fig. 14).
(2) Engage th e two fog la mp bulb r etainer s by piv-
oting them over the bulb base, pressin g t hem slight ly
towar d the front la mp un it housin g, th en inwa rd on
each side of the bulb base.
(3) Reconnect the front lamp u nit wire harn ess
connect or to th e fog lamp bu lb ba se.
(4) Position the front la mp un it rear cover ont o the
lam p h ousing an d en gage th e retainers over ea ch
side of the cover t o secure it (Fig. 13).
(5) Reconnect t he battery negative cable.
FOG LAM P RELAY
REMOVAL
Fog lam ps ar e opt iona l equ ipment on th is model.
On veh icles equipped wit h fog lam ps, a fog la mp
rela y is loca ted in a dedicated connect or of the vehi-
cle wire harness. This connector is snapped into an
openin g in a stam ped sheet metal bracket which is
secured with screws within t he driver side fr ont seat
riser just ben eath t he seat r iser cover panel.
WARNING: To avoid personal injury or death, on
vehicles equipped with airbags, disable the supple-
mental restraint system before attempting any
steering wheel, steering column, airbag, seat belt
tensioner, or instrument panel component diagno-
sis or service. Disconnect and isolate the battery
negative (ground) cable, then wait two minutes for
the system capacitor to discharge before perform-
ing further diagnosis or service. This is the only
sure way to disable the supplemental restraint sys-
tem. Failure to take the proper precautions could
result in accidental airbag deployment.
(1) Disconn ect and isolate the battery nega tive
cable.
(2) Move th e driver side fron t seat to its most for-
ward position for easiest access to th e sea t riser
cover panel (Fig. 15).
