REMOVAL
(1) Usin g h and pressure, unsna p the washer noz-

WASHER PUMP / MOTO R
DESCRIPTION
The washer pu mp/motor unit is located in a dedi-
cated h ole on the top of t he sump area nea r th e back
of t he windshield wa sh er reservoir on the righ t front
fender wheel house in the en gin e com pa rtmen t (Fig.

An inlet nipple on the bottom of t he pump housing
pa sses throu gh a rubber gromm et seal insta lled in
the dedicat ed moun ting hole in the washer reservoir.
A small barbed outlet nipple near th e bottom of the
pu mp housing con nects the unit to th e wa sh er hose.
The washer pump/m otor u nit is retained on th e res-
ervoir by the int erference fit between th e inlet nipple
and the grommet seal, which is a light pr ess fit. An
integra l electrical connect or receptacle is located on
the t op of the motor housing.
An opt iona l version of the wash er pump/mot or unit

is ret ain ed in an integral clip behin d the filler ca p
near th e top of the reser voir, and by a third t erminal
pin in t he wa sh er pump/motor connector receptacle.
The washer pu mp/motor unit can not be repaired. If
faulty or da maged, th e entire washer pum p/m otor
