RELAY
REMOVAL
Dayt ime Runnin g Lamps (DRL) are only u sed in
vehicles ma nufactured for the Ca nadian market,
where this is required equipmen t. On vehicles
equipped with DRL, a right a nd a left DRL relay a re
each located in a dedicated con nector of the vehicle
wire har ness. Each conn ector is snapped into an
openin g in a stam ped sheet metal bracket which is
secured with screws within t he driver side fr ont seat
riser just ben eath t he seat r iser cover panel.
WARNING: To avoid personal injury or death, on
vehicles equipped with airbags, disable the supple-
mental restraint system before attempting any
steering wheel, steering column, airbag, seat belt
tensioner, or instrument panel component diagno-
sis or service. Disconnect and isolate the battery
negative (ground) cable, then wait two minutes for
the system capacitor to discharge before perform-
ing further diagnosis or service. This is the only
sure way to disable the supplemental restraint sys-
tem. Failure to take the proper precautions could
result in accidental airbag deployment.
(1) Disconn ect and isolate the battery nega tive
cable.
(2) Move th e driver side fron t seat to its most for-
ward position for easiest access to th e sea t riser
cover panel (Fig. 12).
(3) Remove the cover panel from the top of t he
driver side seat r iser.
(4) Remove th e DRL relay by grasping it firmly
and pulling it stra igh t out of the rela y conn ector.

(1) Position the DRL r elay to the relay connect or.
(2) Align th e DRL r elay t erminals with t he term i-
nal cavities in the relay connector.
(3) Usin g ha nd pressure, push firm ly a nd even ly
on the top of th e DRL relay un til t he terminals are
fully seated in the relay connector.
(4) Position the cover pan el onto the top of th e
dr iver side seat riser (Fig. 12).
(5) In st all and t igh ten the two screws that secure
the cover panel to th e top of the seat r iser un der the
dr iver side front seat.
(6) Move th e dr iver side front sea t back to its driv-
ing position.
(7) Reconnect t he battery negative cable.
FOG LAM P BU LB
REMOVAL
(1) Disconn ect and isolate the battery nega tive
cable.
(2) Disengage a nd swing the retainers tha t secure
the front lamp unit r ear cover to each side of the
lam p h ousing an d r emove the cover (Fig. 13).
