(4) Remove the h eadla mp leveling switch from the
face of t he clu st er bezel.
INSTALLATION
WARNING: To avoid personal injury or death, on
vehicles equipped with airbags, disable the supple-
mental restraint system before attempting any
steering wheel, steering column, airbag, seat belt
tensioner, or instrument panel component diagno-
sis or service. Disconnect and isolate the battery
negative (ground) cable, then wait two minutes for
the system capacitor to discharge before perform-
ing further diagnosis or service. This is the only
sure way to disable the supplemental restraint sys-
tem. Failure to take the proper precautions could
result in accidental airbag deployment.
(1) Position the hea dlamp leveling switch to t he
pr oper moun tin g hole on th e face of the clu st er bezel
(Fig. 29).
(2) Usin g hand pressure, push the hea dlamp level-
ing switch firmly an d evenly into the swit ch m ount-
ing h ole of the cluster bezel until bot h of the lat ches
on the switch body are fully enga ged.
(3) Reinstall the cluster bezel onto the instrumen t
pa nel. (Refer to 23 - BODY/INSTRUMENT PANEL/
CLUSTE R BEZEL - INSTALLATION).
(4) Reconnect t he battery negative cable.
HIGH BEAM HEADLAMP BULB
REMOVAL
(1) Disconn ect and isolate the battery nega tive
cable.
(2) Disengage a nd swing the retainers tha t secure
the front lamp unit r ear cover to each side of the
lam p h ousing an d r emove the cover (Fig. 31).
(3) Disconn ect the front lam p u nit wire h arn ess
connect or from th e high beam headla mp bulb base
(Fig. 32).
(4) Disengage the high beam h eadla mp bulb
reta iner by pushing it sligh tly towar d t he front lam p
unit housing and ou twar d from the bulb base, then
pivot th e ret ainer off of the bulb base.
(5) Remove the high beam hea dlamp bulb from the
integra l bulb holder on the front lamp u nit reflector.
