TION SENSOR
DESCRIPTION
The accelerator peda l position sen sor (Fig. 1) is
locat ed on the accelerat or peda l assembly. The driver
su pplies the t orque requir ement s for the en gin e by
operat ing the accelera tor pedal in a ccordance with
the desired speed or acceleration . Th e pedal sen sor
conver ts the mech anical oper ation of th e peda l into
an elect rica l signal and sen ds the informat ion to the
ECM. The ECM adjusts the qua ntity of t he fuel that
is injected into the engine.
The accelerat or pedal posit ion sensor is serviced a s
an assembly with the accelera tor pedal assembly.
REMOVAL
(1) Disconn ect the n egat ive battery cable.
(2) Disconn ect th e APP sen sor electrical connec-
tors.
(3) Remove the APP sensor fasten ers an d t he sen-
sor (F ig. 2).
INSTALLATION
(1) Connect the accelera tor pedal posit ion sen sor
wiring har ness connect or.
