(3) Remove the nut th at secu res th e mot or crank
arm to the wiper mot or output sha ft.
(4) If this wiper mot or is to be r einstalled, make
an index mark between th e wiper mot or out pu t shaft
and the motor crank arm using a suitable m arker.
(5) Disengage t he m otor cr ank arm from th e wiper
motor out pu t sh aft.
(6) Remove the thr ee screws that secu re th e wiper
motor to the wiper linkage module motor bracket.
(7) Remove the wiper m otor from the wiper lin k-
age module motor bracket.
INSTALLATION
(1) Position th e wiper motor to t he u nderside of
the wiper linkage module motor bracket (Fig. 32).
(2) In st all a nd tight en the three screws th at secur e
the wiper mot or to t he wiper lin kage module motor
bracket. Tigh ten th e screws to 12 N·m (105 in. lbs.).
(3) If this wiper motor is being reinsta lled, position
the motor cra nk arm on the wiper m otor ou tput sh aft
so t hat the index marks m ade du ring the remova l
pr ocedure are aligned. If this is a n ew wiper motor
insta lla tion , the motor cr ank arm should be inst alled
so t hat it is poin ted toward the left (dr iver ) side of
the veh icle an d parallel with the two wiper drive
lin ks while both wiper blades a re positioned on their
alignm ent ma rks n ear the lower edge of t he wind-
shield gla ss.
(4) In st all an d tight en th e nu t th at secu res the
motor cra nk ar m t o the wiper motor out pu t shaft.
Tighten t he nu t to 12 N·m (105 in. lbs.).
(5) Reconnect t he vehicle wire harn ess conn ector
for the wiper m otor to the motor pigt ail wire connec-
tor.
(6) Reconnect t he battery negative cable.
