(5) St abilize th e front la mp unit reflector with one
hand, then use the other hand to pull the hea dlamp
leveling motor away fr om the reflector unt il the ball
on t he end of th e motor pushr od un sn aps fr om t he
bracket on th e reflector.
(6) Remove th e hea dlamp leveling mot or from the
mount on th e front lamp unit hou sing.
INSTALLATION
(1) Position the h eadlamp leveling mot or to the
mount on th e front lamp unit hou sing (Fig. 28).
(2) Sn ap th e ball on the end of the h eadla mp lev-
eling mot or into the br acket on t he front lamp unit
reflector.
(3) Push th e hea dlamp levelin g mot or into the
mount integra l to t he fron t lam p unit housing un til it
is fully seated, then rotate the motor clockwise a bout
30 degr ees to lock it into place (Fig. 27).
(4) Reconnect the front lamp u nit wire harn ess
connect or to the connect or receptacle for the head-
lam p levelin g mot or.
(5) Position the front la mp un it rear cover ont o the
lam p h ousing an d en gage th e retainers over ea ch
side of the cover t o secure it (Fig. 26).
(6) Reconnect t he battery negative cable.
HEADLAMP LEVELING

REMOVAL
WARNING: To avoid personal injury or death, on
vehicles equipped with airbags, disable the supple-
mental restraint system before attempting any
steering wheel, steering column, airbag, seat belt
tensioner, or instrument panel component diagno-
sis or service. Disconnect and isolate the battery
negative (ground) cable, then wait two minutes for
the system capacitor to discharge before perform-
ing further diagnosis or service. This is the only
sure way to disable the supplemental restraint sys-
tem. Failure to take the proper precautions could
result in accidental airbag deployment.
(1) Disconn ect and isolate the battery nega tive
cable.
(2) Remove the cluster bezel from t he in st rumen t
pa nel (Fig. 29). (Refer to 23 - BODY/INSTRUMENT
PANEL/CLUSTER BEZEL - RE MOVAL).
(3) From th e back of th e cluster bezel, squeeze the
two latches on the headlamp levelin g switch body
and pu sh th e switch out th rough the face of t he bezel
(Fig. 30).
