REMOVAL
(1) Disconn ect the n egat ive battery cable.
(2) Raise and support the vehicle.
(3) Drain engine oil into a suitable, a nd appropri-
ately m arked container.
(4) Remove engine mount to chassis n uts.
(5) Lower vehicle an d insta ll engine support .
(6) Remove the turbo char ger heat shield t o r adia-
tor support bolts.
(7) Raise engin e un til th e weigh t of t he engine no
longer rests on the engine mounts.
(8) Raise and support the vehicle.
(9) Detach t he fron t st abilizer bar at th e front a xle
and rotate it downwa rd.
(10) Un plug the oil level sensor (Fig. 67).
(11) Remove the oil level sen sor ret ain ing screw,
oil level sensor an d discard t he O-ring (Fig. 67).
INSTALLATION
(1) Seat new O-ring on oil level sen sor and lubr i-
cate O-rin g with clea n engine oil (F ig. 67).
(2) In st all t he oil level sensor into the oil pan a nd
tighten scr ew to 124 lbs. in.(14N·m ) (Fig. 67).
(3) Connect oil level sen sor wiring h arness connec-
tor (Fig. 67).
(4) Rotat e fr ont stabilizer ba r upwa rd and secur e
to axle beam. Tigh ten to 22 lbs.ft . (30 N·m)
(5) Lower th e vehicle.
(6) Lower th e engine int o the mounts.
(7) Remove engine su pport fixtu re.
(8) Raise and support the vehicle.
(9) Tighten bot h engine m ount to chassis n uts.
(10) Install and tighten oil dr ain plu g.
(11) Lower vehicle and inst all t he appropriate
engine oil.
INTAKE MANIFOLD
REMOVAL
WARNING: NO FIRE, SPARKS OR SMOKING.
STORE FUELS ONLY INTO SUITABLE AND APPRO-
PRIATELY MARKED CONTAINERS, AND WEAR
PROTECTIVE CLOTHING. (Refer to 14 - FUEL SYS-
TEM - WARNING).
WARNING: DO NOT OPEN THE COOLING SYSTEM
UNLESS THE COOLANT TEMPERATURE IS BELOW
90°C (194°F). OPEN RADIATOR CAP SLOWLY TO
RELEASE PRESSURE. STORE COOLANT ONLY
INTO SUITABLE AND APPROPRIATELY MARKED
CONTAINERS, WEAR PROTECTIVE CLOTHING AND
EYE PROTECTION.
(1) Disconn ect the n egat ive battery cable.
(2) Partially drain coolant from the radiator.
(3) Remove th e engine cover (Refer t o9-ENGINE
- REMOVAL).
(4) Remove th e high pr essu re fuel lines (Fig. 68).
