REMOVAL - OUTBOARD
WARNING: To avoid personal injury or death, during
and following any seat belt service, carefully
inspect all seat belts, buckles, mounting hardware,
retractors, and anchors for proper installation, oper-
ation, or damage. Replace any belt that is cut,
frayed, or torn. Straighten any belt that is twisted.
Tighten any loose fasteners. Replace any belt that
has a damaged or inoperative buckle or retractor.
Replace any belt that has a bent or damaged latch
plate or anchor plate. Never attempt to repair a seat
belt component. Always replace damaged or faulty
seat belt components with the correct, new and
unused replacement parts listed in the
DaimlerChrysler Mopar Parts Catalog.
(1) Unsn ap a nd remove t he plast ic cover from t he
scr ew that secures the outboa rd rea r seat belt bu ckle
to t he r ight side of th e seat cushion frame (Fig.
37).
(2) Remove th e screw t hat secures the outboard
rear sea t belt buckle to the rea r seat cushion fram e.
(3) Remove the ou tboard rear seat belt bu ckle from
the r igh t side of th e rea r sea t cushion fr ame.

(1) Position t he inboa rd rea r seat belt bu ckle to
the r ear seat cu sh ion frame (Fig. 36).
(2) In st all an d tighten th e screw that secures
eith er the inboa rd rear sea t belt bu ckle t o t he rear
seat cush ion fra me. Tighten the screw to 35 N·m (26
ft. lbs.).
(3) Reinstall the plast ic shield ont o the back of the
rear seat. (Refer to 23 - BODY/SEATS/REAR SEAT
BACK SHIELD - INSTALLATION).
(4) Reinstall the rear bench seat into the vehicle.

outboa rd side of the rear sea t cushion frame (Fig.
37).
(2) In st all and tigh ten the screw that secur es th e
outboa rd rea r sea t belt bu ckle to the rea r seat cush-
ion frame. Tight en the scr ew to 35 N·m (26 ft. lbs.).
(3) Reinstall th e plastic cover ont o th e screw t hat
secures th e rea r seat belt buckle to the righ t out-
board side of th e rear sea t cushion frame.
SEAT BELT SWI T CH
DESCRIPTION
The seat belt swit ch is a sma ll, norm ally closed,
single pole, single t hrow, leaf cont act, momen tary
switch . Only one seat belt switch is in st alled in the
vehicle, and it is integra l to the dr iver side front seat
belt bu ckle unit. The sea t belt switch is conn ected to
the veh icle electrical system thr ough a two-wire pig-
tail wire harn ess and connector to a dedica ted take
