(3) Remove t he t wo screws that secu re the passen-
ger airbag door upper clips to the instru ment panel
ba se t r im .
(4) Remove the t hree screws t hat secure the flange
of t he pa ssen ger airbag hou sing to the br acket on th e
instr umen t pa nel st ructu ral support.
(5) Pull the passenger airbag u nit rea rward to dis-
enga ge the airbag door from the lower clips and far
enough to access t he electrical connection on t he
right end of the u nit.
CAUTION: Do not pull on the wires to disengage
the connector from the passenger airbag inflator
connector receptacle. Improper removal of the con-
nector insulator can result in damage to the airbag
circuits or the connector insulator.
(6) The veh icle wire ha rness connector is a tight
sn ap-fit into t he airba g in flator connector r eceptacle,
which is located on the right end of th e pa ssen ger
air bag housing. Firmly gra sp a nd pull or gent ly pry
on the connector insulator a nd pu ll the connect or
