that the arrow on the sensor hou sing is pointed
towar d t he outboard side of th e veh icle.
(2) In st all and t igh ten the two screws that secure
the side im pa ct sen sor to the st ep well.
(3) Reconnect t he vehicle wire harn ess conn ector
for the side impact sensor to the sen sor connector
recepta cle.
(4) Reinstall t he tr im paneling to the interior of
the front door step well. (Refer to 23 - BODY/INTE-
RIOR/STEPWELL SCUFF PADS - INSTALLATION).
(5) Do not reconn ect the ba ttery negative ca ble a t
this t ime. The supplemental restra int syst em verifi-
cation test procedure sh ould be performed following
service of any supplem ental r estraint syst em compo-
nent . (Refer to 8 - ELE CTRICAL/RESTRAINTS -
STANDARD PROCEDURE - VERIFICATION TE ST).
