HOW TO USE WIRING DIAGRAMS
Daim lerChrysler Corporation wirin g diagram s ar e
designed to provide infor mation rega rding the vehi-
cles wirin g con tent. In order to effectively use t he
wiring diagram s to diagnose a nd repair
Daim lerChrysler Corpora tion veh icles, it is important
to under st and a ll of their features and char acter is-
tics.
Diagrams are a rra nged such th at th e power (B+)
side of the cir cuit is placed near the top of the page,
and t he ground (B-) side of the circuit is placed near
the bottom of t he page (Fig. 1).
All switches, com pon ents, a nd modules a re sh own
in the a t rest position with the doors closed and th e
key rem oved from the ignit ion (Fig. 2).
Componen ts ar e sh own t wo wa ys. A solid line
around a componen t indicates tha t the com pon ent is
complet e. A dashed line around the com ponent indi-
cates th at the componen t is being sh own is n ot com-
plete. Incomplete componen ts have a referen ce
number t o i n dicate th e page where th e component is
sh own complet e.
It is important to realize that no att empt is m ade
on the diagram s t o repr esent com pon ents and wiring
as th ey appear on the veh icle. F or exa mple, a shor t
piece of wire is treated the sa me as a long one. In
addition, switches and other componen ts a re shown
as simply a s possible, with regard t o funct ion only.
SYMBOLS
In tern ational symbols are used thr oughout t he wir-
ing diagr ams. These symbols are consist ent with
those being used a round t he world (Fig. 3).
