(30) Disconn ect the en gin e valley drain hose fas-
tener from the tra nsmission (Fig. 5).
(31) Remove th e steering gear mount ing bolts.
(32) Disconn ect th e transm ission cooler lines at
transmission a nd oil pan.
(33) Remove th e torque converter a ccess plate.
(34) Remove th e torque converter bolts.
(35) Remove th e cran k posit ion sensor.
(36) Remove the tr ansmission housing to engine
mounting bolt s.
(37) Remove th e star ter mountin g bolts (Fig. 5).
(38) Support th e tra nsmission with a tra nsmission
jack.
(39) Pla ce a wood block between the tr ansmission
housin g an d the fr ont frame cross over.
(40) Remove th e tra nsmission ja ck.
(41) Remove th e exhaust bra cket (right side).
(42) Remove th e engine grou nd stra p (left side).
(43) Lower th e veh icle.
(44) Remove th e h eater hou sing filter and lower
housin g.
(45) Connect th e engine lifting fixtur e #9308 to t he
engine lift ing eyes.
(46) Remove th e engine moun t bolts.
(47) Remove the tr ansmission oil level in dicator
tube moun ting bolt.
