REMOVAL
The fuel level sending un it (fuel level sensor) an d
float a ssem bly is locat ed on the side of th e fuel pu mp
module (4) (Fig. 30).
(1) Remove fuel pu mp module from fu el t ank.
Refer to F uel Pump Modu le Rem oval/Installat ion.
(2) Unplug sensor’s 2–wire harness from pum p
module elect rica l conn ector.
(3) Before discon necting wir ing from 2–wire har-
ness electrical con nector, note position of ea ch wir e in
the con nector. Record t his posit ion.
(4) Disconn ect wiring from 2–wire ha rness electr i-
cal connector u sing a ter min al pick / r emova l tool.
Refer to Special Tools in 8W, Wiring for t ool par t
numbers.
(5) To rem ove sending unit fr om pump module,
pr ess on pla st ic locking t abs (1) (Fig. 30) while slid-
ing sendin g un it (4) on its tracks.
INSTALLATION
(1) Noting their previou s positions, conn ect wires
from 2–wire h arness into its connector.
(2) Plug 2–wire ha rness connect or int o pum p mod-
ule electrical conn ector.
(3) Position sen ding unit (4) (Fig. 31) to tracks on
fuel pu mp module. Slide an d sn ap int o place.
(4) In st all fuel pu mp modu le. Refer t o Fuel Pum p
Module Removal/Installation.
