Torque from the tor que con verter is increased via
the input sh aft (25) and a ll thr ee pla neta ry gear sets
and tra nsferr ed to the out pu t shaft (26). (Fig. 10)

Front Planetary Gear Set
The ann ulu s gea r (8) is driven by t he input shaft
(25). The sun gear (21) is held again st th e housing by
the locked fr eewheel F1 (20) during accelerat ion and
via the engaged mu ltiple-disc holding clutch B1 (4)
du ring decelera tion . The pla neta ry pinion gears (17)
turn on t he fixed sun gear (21) and increa se the
torqu e from the ann ulus gear (8) t o the planetary
carrier (13). The plan etar y carrier (13) moves at a
reduced speed in t he running direct ion of the en gine.
Rear Planetary Gear Set
The m ult iple-disc clu tch K2 (9) is engaged and
transfers the input speed of the inpu t shaft (25) t o
the planetar y carrier (15) via the annulus gear (10).
The an nulus gear (11) tur ns at a reduced speed du e
to the mech anical conn ection with t he front plane-
tary car rier (13). The planetar y pin ion gears (19)
turn between t he a nnulus gear (11) an d the sun gear
(23). The sun gear (23) m oves at an increa sed speed
in the running direct ion of th e engine.
Center Planetary Gear Set
The a nnulus gear (10) turn s at the input speed as
a result of the en gaged multiple-disc clut ch K2 (9).
