TE S T ACTION AP PLICAB ILITY
1 NOTE: If DTC P1611, P2306 or P2332 is present with this DTC, diagnose
DTCs P1611, P2306 or P2332 before diagnosing this DTC.
NOTE: If the ECM detects and stores a DTC, the ECM also stores the
e n gi n e /ve h ic le o p e ra ti n g c o n d i tio n s u n d e r w h ic h th e D TC w a s s e t. S o m e o f
these conditions are displayed on the DRB at the same time the DTC is
displayed.
NOTE: Before erasing stored DTCs, record these conditions. Attempting to
duplicate these conditions may assist when checking for an active DTC.
NOTE: The APP Sensor is a device that contains 2 separate potentiometer
ty p e s e n s o rs . Ea c h s e n s or h a s its ow n 5-v o lt su p ply c irc u i t, se n s o r g ro u n d
ci rc u it a n d si g n a l c irc u it . Th e AP P Se n s o r n o lo n ge r in c o rp o ra te s a lo w -id le
switch.
NOTE: Th e AP P S e n s o r 2 s ig n a l s h o u ld alw a y s be a p p ro x im at e ly 1/2 th e
voltage of the APP Sensor 1 signal.

NOTE: This test can also performed using a voltmeter by back probing each
APP Sensor Si gnal ci r cuit at t he APP Sensor h ar n ess connector an d
observing the voltmeter for a smooth voltage change through the entire
pedal travel.
