(9) Scr ew on bearing nut (1) an d tighten nut with
Wren ch 9279 to 500 N·m (369 ft. lbs.).
NOTE: Bearing nut with groove on left rear axle
shaft has a left-hand thread. Bearing nut without
groove on right rear axle shaft has a right-hand
thread.
(10) Bend locking r ing (3) with a ha mmer and
pu nch at both grooves in the bearing nut (Fig. 19).
NOTE: The grooved nut must be locked in both
directions of rotation.
(11) In st all sea lin g r ing (4) ont o r oller bearing race
(Fig. 19).
(12) Install rea r axle shaft.

(2) Remove axle sh aft (2) hu b (1) nuts (3) (Fig. 20).
(3) Pull out a xle sh aft.
