(4) Open up bleeder, then have a helper press
down the br ake pedal. Once t he pedal is down close
the bleeder. Repeat bleeding until fluid st ream is
clear and free of bu bbles. Then move to th e next
wh eel.
STANDARD PROCEDURE - PRESSURE BLEED-
ING
Use approved br ake fluid (Refer t o LUBRICATION
& MAINTENANCE /FLUID TYPES - DESCRIP-
TION). Use fresh, clea n fluid fr om a sealed conta iner
at all times.
Follow the ma nufacturers instructions car efully
when using pressur e equipment . Do not exceed the
tank man ufacturers pressure recomm endations. Gen-
erally, a tank pressure of 15-20 psi is sufficien t for
bleedin g.
Fill the bleeder t ank with r ecommended fluid and
pu rge a ir from the ta nk lines before bleeding.
Do not pr essu re bleed withou t a pr oper ma ster cyl-
inder adapter. The wron g adapt er ca n lead t o lea k-
age, or dr awin g air back int o the system.
