12.3.2.6 Configuring the JoTron Float-free Capsule
To begin setting up the JoTron Float-free Capsule support:
1. Open Notepad;
2. Locate the file <C:\Windows\vdrparams.ini>;
3. Open the file using Notepad;
4. Locate the [STORAGE] section of the open file; and
Set the entries that must be set as shown below:
[STORAGE]
hardenedStorage = 1 // 0=disable, 1=enable, 2 = Dual FRM, default is 0
hardenedFormat = 3 // 1=L3 HVR, 2= PMC, 3 = Jotron, 4 = ACR
secondaryHardenedFormat = 4 // 1=L3 HVR, 2= PMC, 3 = Jotron, 4 = ACR
NetworkHVR-compressNMEA = 1
NOTE: If no video data is being captured then it is not necessary to compress
NMEA data. NMEA data must be compressed ONLY if video data is being
captured. To enable compression, the above entry in the INI file must be
changed to a setting of 1. (This setting is found in the [STORAGE] section of the
<vdrparams.ini> file)
The JoTron Float–Free capsule does not require the set-up of partitions. For complete physical
installation information, please refer to the JoTron SVDR Technical Manual.
12.3.2.7 Start Recording to the JoTron Float–free SFRM Capsule
1. Start the VDR_Record application from the desktop;
2. Observe the following messages are presented in the Log Window:
a. The JoTron Float–free SFRM Capsule is ready;
b. Configuration saved to the hardened storage
3. Minimize the VDR_Record application and open the error log.
4. Observe the following messages are written in the error log:
a. Stream audio (type AUDIO) connected
b. Stream nmea (type NMEA) connected
c. Stream video (type VIDEO) connected
d. Hardened Storage module ready
e. Configuration saved to the hardened storage
5. Allow the VDR to record for 12 continuous hours.
12.3.2.8 Confirm JoTron Float-free Recording
To confirm that the JoTron Float-free SFRM Capsule has successfully saved 12 continuous hours
of data, the data must be downloaded and reviewed using the Playback application. To download
