8.2.1.2 Indoor Microphone Assembly
The dimensions of the indoor microphone and microphone junction box are shown in Figure 8-4 –
Internal/Indoor Microphone with Junction Box.
The audio (indoor grade) junction box must be installed within a 2m cable length from the
microphone. The provided cable, attached to the devices, should not be changed.
The audio coverage from the indoor microphone is uni-directional with a horizontal coverage
angle (-3 dB) of 130º, and a vertical coverage angle (up and down) of 45º from the front of the
microphone area. Install the indoor microphone (which includes an integrated audio test source or
buzzer) so that the coverage range described by these angles includes the area to be recorded.
Note: The Microphone Junction Box is normally installed behind the ceiling panels.
