10. Enter 192.168.0.189 (the last number can be any number from 2 to 254, except 50.)
11. Click the “OK” button in the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties;
12. Click the “OK” button in the Local Area Connection Properties; and
13. The connection should now be established.
12.2.1.6 Configuring the Rutter FRM (RUT-02447) Fixed Capsule
To begin setting up a Rutter FRM (RUT-02447) Fixed/SFRM Capsule support:
1. Open Notepad;
2. Locate the file <C:\Windows\vdrparams.ini>;
3. Open the file using Notepad;
4. Locate the [STORAGE] section of the open file; and
5. Set the entries that must be set as shown below:

12.2.1.7 Start Recording to the Rutter FRM (RUT-02447) Fixed Capsule
1. Start the VDR_Record application from the desktop.
2. Observe the following messages are presented in the Log Window.
a. The Rutter FRM (RUT-02447) Fixed Capsule is ready
b. Successfully saved vdrparams.ini to the Rutter FRM (RUT-02447) Fixed Capsule
c. Successfully saved vdr-cfg.txt to the Rutter FRM (RUT-02447) Fixed Capsule
3. Allow the VDR to record for 12 continuous hours
12.2.1.8 Confirm the Rutter FRM (RUT-02447) Fixed Capsule Recording
1. Once the VDR has recorded for 12 continuous hours, deselect Record under the test
menu of the VDR_Record application to stop recording.
2. Disconnect the Rutter FRM (RUT-02447) Fixed Capsule from the VDR and connect it to
a free Ethernet port on the Technician PC. The Ethernet port on the Technician PC must
be configured to have an IP address on the same subnet (192.168.0.x) as the Rutter
FRM (RUT-02447) Fixed Capsule IP address. To change the Technician PC Ethernet
port address follow these steps:
a. Open the Control Panel via the Start menu.
b. Double-click the Network Connections icon.
c. Right-click on the Ethernet port icon and select Properties from the pop-up menu.
d. In the Local Area Connection Properties window, highlight “Internet Protocol
(TCP/IP)” and click the “Properties” button located directly below the available
options.
e. In the subsequent Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties window, select the “Use
the following IP address” radio button and enter 192.168.0.10 (the last number
can be any number from 2 to 254, except 50.)
f. Click the “OK” button in the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties and the Local
Area Connection Properties.
g. The connection should now be established.
3. Launch the FRM Download application and use it to download the recorded data from the
Rutter FRM (RUT-02447) Fixed Capsule. When the download is completed, exit the FRM
Download application.
4. Open the Playback application on the technician PC and select the downloaded FRM
data set to playback.
