7.7.4.1 Changing cartridges
j WARNING
Danger of injury due to falling
Before replacing the filter, make
sure that suitable equipment for
this purpose (e.g. a pedestal) is
at hand.
In an emergency: Administer first
aid, seek treatment from a doctor
Replacing the main cartridge
Open the support brackets (288/1) and
remove the cover (288/2) with the dust
emptying valve (288/5).
Carefully turn and tip the dirty main car-
tridge (289/1) to remove it, then dispose of
the cartridge.
Record the maintenance job performed on
the safety cartridge (289/2).
Clean the inside of the air filter body and
the sealing surface in the housing with
damp cloths. Do not blow off the housing
with compressed air.
Check the new main cartridge for damage.
ATTENTION
Do not install damaged main car-
tridges. The diesel engine can be
damaged if dust is able to get into
it.
Install the main cartridge by turning it
slightly into the filter body. Check to make
sure it is seated correctly.
Install the cover with the dust emptying
valve below and fasten the support brack-
ets (288/1).
