Torque from the tor que con verter is increased via
the input sh aft (25) and a ll thr ee pla neta ry gear sets
and tra nsferred wit h r eversed direction of r otat ion to
the ou tput sha ft (26) (Fig. 14) and (Fig. 15).
Front Planetary Gear Set
The clut ch K1 (7) is shifted. The planetary carr ier
(13) and sun gea r (21) are conn ected to ea ch other as
a resu lt. The annu lus gear (8) is driven via th e input
sh aft (25). The planetary gear set is locked a nd turn s
as a unit.
Rear Planetary Gear Set
The plan etar y ca rrier (15) is held against the hous-
ing by th e enga ged multiple-disc h olding clutch B3
(5). The annu lus gear (11) t urns at a r edu ced speed
du e to the mechanical conn ection to t he front plane-
tary car rier (13). The planetar y pin ion gears (19)
turn between t he a nnulus gear (11) an d the sun gear
(23). The dir ection is rever sed by t he held planetar y
carrier (15) so tha t the su n gear (23) turns in the
opposite direction to the runnin g direct ion of the
en gin e.
Center Planetary Gear Set
The an nulus gear (10) is held aga inst the hou sing
by the multiple-disc holding clu tch B3 (5) via th e
mecha nica l connect ion t o the planetary carr ier (15).
The sun gear (22) tu rns ba ckwa rds due to the
enga ged mu ltiple-disc clutch K3 (12). The planet ary
gear s (18) turn on the fixed a nnulus gear (10) an d
increase the torqu e from t he su n gear (22) to the
planet ary carrier (14). The out pu t shaft (26) con-
nected to th e pla neta ry carrier (14) tu rns at a
reduced speed in the opposite direction to th e r un-
ning direction of the engine.
